Sun Conure
This is a sun conure. The conures are a rather large family of different types. The sun is the only one I am familiar with at the moment. This variety’s mood can run from docile to ferocious. It all depends on whether or not he takes a liking to you.
We have a pair, but since they are not bonded, they will not breed. The male is considerably older than the female. I can’t tell the sex by observation, but the male can sometimes be caught masturbating with some object.
We feed our conures small parrot food, though sometimes they seem to prefer cockatiel food.
